The valley along the river Toscolano was once a major center of papermaking. Today, it is fascinating for its diverse nature and the romantic ruins. Operational until the mid-20th Century, teh paper mills Valley in Toscolano Maderno boats a paper productive tradition ever since 1381 and in the 15th-16th Century supplied Venetian printers.vast amounts of papaer were produced by the many papaers mills there, the remains of which can still be seen throughout this sugggestive unspoilt valley.
